Magne uses LiveKit for real-time voice communication with low-latency SFU (Selective Forwarding Unit) architecture.Voice Channels
- Join any voice channel in a server — no call initiation needed
- Media controls — Mute/unmute microphone, toggle camera, screen share
- Join-to-Create (JTC) — Temporary voice channels that auto-create when you join a hub channel and auto-delete when empty
- Move users — Moderators can move participants between voice channels
- Voice states — See who’s in each channel, their mute/deafen status, and connection quality
Direct Calls
- 1-on-1 voice/video calls via the friends list or DM interface
- Ring notifications — Incoming call alerts with accept/decline options
- Group calls — Invite additional participants to an active call
- Call timeout — Unanswered calls auto-cancel after 30 seconds
Music Bot
Integrated music playback powered by the Magne bot service:- Queue management — Add tracks, skip, shuffle, and reorder the queue
- Real-time broadcast — MP3 audio streams via WebSocket relay to all channel participants
- Now playing — Live metadata with track title, artist, album, and cover art
